About DanTheStampMan.Com I started DanTheStampMan.Com in 2001 after my father passed away after a long battle with cancer. He was a life-long stamp collector. Growing up, I had no real interest in collecting stamps, but my sister and I made some extra money by helping my dad sort and soak stamps for his collection, normally for trade. He belonged to a small network of collector friends that would trade stamps. He would sometimes buy items he did not have a direct interest in, but then trade that item with another collector for something he did need. I remember asking him as a child 'How about selling some of these stamps and make some extra money?' He had no interest in the business aspect of stamps, he just liked collecting. As a kid, there were always boxes of stamps hanging around, and his den was always overflowing with stamp stuff. I have been around stamps all my life. After he passed away, I received some of his collection to liquidate. I found selling stamps was something I really enjoyed while at the same time having a connection to my father that I will pass on to my own son. Combined with my years of customer service and technical skills, I found it a very rewarding business to be in and it grew. Fast forward to 2011, and I have acquired many collections over the years which I break down and sell. I feel it is important to see every collection in its entirety before the customer can decide to buy or not. My staff invests a large amount of time photographing or scanning nearly every stamp I sell, no matter how large or small the collection. Being honorable is important in any business, but more so for a stamp dealer where condition is largely subjective. You can count on DanTheStampMan.Com to always be fair and reasonable before and after the sale. More than 90% of my business is from repeat buyers, many of whom have been customers for many years. While DanTheStampMan.Com is currently my part-time job (I am a full-time computer programmer working on Financial Systems), one day soon (hopefully) I plan to 'retire' from the Information Technologies world and focus on stamps full-time. How I ship: We will send your item using the most safe and cost effective method.
